Equipment transport to and from the mountain

Equipment travelling from our base in Penitentes up to one of the Aconcagua base camps is carried on muleback. We are well aware of the problems that the delay or loss of equipment may cause. Therefore, our equipment reception, transport and delivery system has been tuned to perfection after more than 25 years of experience.

Luggage reception

Our headquarters are in Penitentes. Once you get there, you will be welcomed by our staff.

A mule can carry up to 60 kg. (around 120 lb.); so, it is advisable to prepare either two 30-kg packs or three 20-kg packs for the animal to carry. We have more than adequate equipment to ensure the safe transport of our clients´equipment.

Once the packs are ready, they are weighed. A sticker with an identification number is added to each load and a ticket with the same number is given to the owner for later claim at the base camps.

We also have plenty of space for equipment storage and a special safe for valuable objects.

Luggage claim

At the arrival at the base camps -or back in Penitentes, the ticket with the identification number will be required to return your luggage.
